Uguem Rising Club Crowned Champions of 19th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup

Uguem Rising Club emerged champions of the 19th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup after registering a convincing 2–0 victory over Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim, in the final played at the Chandor Church Sports Complex on Sunday. The tournament was organised by the Guirdolim Club and witnessed keen competition throughout.

Uguem asserted their dominance from the opening minutes, with forwards Rutik and Pratamesh consistently troubling the Wilred defence. Midfielder Austin played a pivotal role by delivering accurate long balls to the attacking duo. The sustained pressure paid off in the 9th minute when Uguem earned a free-kick just outside the 18-yard box on the left. Pratamesh’s well-taken floater was met by Austin’s header, which found the back of the net to give Uguem an early lead.

Wilred Leisure SC attempted a comeback and enjoyed a strong five-minute spell, hitting the crossbar once and being denied on another occasion by an excellent save from Uguem goalkeeper Tejas. However, Uguem doubled their advantage in the 18th minute when Rutik went on a swift counter-attack, dribbled past the Wilred defence, and calmly placed the ball beyond the goalkeeper. With this goal, Rutik became the only player to score in every match of the tournament. The first half ended with Uguem firmly in control.

After the break, Wilred came out aggressively and created several chances, but outstanding goalkeeping by Tejas denied them on two clear opportunities. Uguem adopted a defensive approach in the second half, successfully protecting their lead to seal the title. Earlier, Guirdolim Club President Sudesh Bhise welcomed the gathering, while Treasurer Darwin Cardoso proposed the vote of thanks.
