Vailankanni Boys march into semis

PANJIM: Vailankanni Boys, Calangute got the better of United Football Club, Siridao 5-4 to march into the semi-final of Trawler Owners Cup floodlit football tournament, organized by Siridao Boys, at River Plate ground, Siridao, on Thursday. The teams were locked 2-2 at full time. United FC dominated the first session with attacking football as Myron scored a fine brace to put the home team in the dfrivers seat at the break.

In the second session, Calangute got into a rhythm and threatened continuously by using the flanks effectively. 
They went all out and Jostan pulled a goal back. Soon, Mendes restored parity with a sublime finish, 2-2.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Atish and Minesh netted for United FC while Joston, Mohamed and Michael found the net for Calangute, who now meet Amigos Boys, Siridao in the first semi-final on Saturday.
