NUVEM: Varca Veterans scrapped past Bardez Veterans 6-5 to move into the next round of 1st all-Goa inter-village veterans football tournament organised by Marc Caterers, Nuvem, at Nuvem Church ground, on Friday.
In the first half, Varca Veterans scored the first goal through the efforts of Raju Cardozo.
In the second half, Bardez Veterans equalised through the boots of Claudio Pacheco. Both the teams settled for a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Varca Veterans found the net through Francis D’Costa, Yuri Ferrao, Francisco Carvalho, Raju Cardozo and Wilson Fernandes, while for Bardez Veterans, Benedict Fernandes, Lawrence Quadros, Jude Fernandes and Domnick Braganza were on target.
