VARCA: Verna Veterans moved into the semi-finals after defeating Calangute Veterans 4-2 via the tie- breaker in 2nd all Goa Clement memorial veterans football tournament, organised by Youth of Fatrade at Varca ground, on Thursday.
Calangute’s Bruno Coutinho had the best chance to put his team ahead but his shot went inches over the Verna bar in the 4th minute.
As the match progressed, in the 50th minute, Bruno’s powerpacked shot came off Verna goal post.
In the tie-breaker, Verna proved to be the better shooters.
