PANJIM: Villa Boys of Taleigao edge past Dham Dhum Valpoi 5-4 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-final of the Trawler Owner’s Cup floodlit football tournament organized by Siridao Sporst Club, at River Plate ground, Siridao, on Thursday. They were locked 1-1 at full time.
Villa Boys opened their account in the 10th minute through Jose, who was assisted by Rohan.
Valpoi could have equalized but Abdul’s long ranger was blocked by the keeper of Taleigao.
At the other end, Steven of Taleigao received a through ball from Jose but shot wide.
Crossing over, Valpoi equalized in the 40th minute through Abdul, who headed in a cross by Khan.
As the match progress, Valpoi took control of the proceedings but the rival custodian left them frustrated. In the tie-breaker, Taleigao had the last laugh.
