PANJIM: Margao’s Xaxti Riders won the May Mayhem Cycling Challenge (MMCC) event for the second consecutive year, recently.
The event was organised by Cycling Goa, Association of Goan cyclists.
MMCC is a unique event which requires cyclists from across Goa to cycle a minimum of 20kms every day and total of 400 kms in the month of May.
Cyclists from Margao cumulatively cycled a total of 37,197 kms in the month of May to win the rolling trophy for the second consecutive year. They were followed in second position by the combined efforts of the Vasco and Ponda cyclists with 16,751 kms, while cyclists from Panjim totalled 15, 875 kms for the third position.
Prince Colaco from Margao won the ‘yellow jersey’ in the men’s category after he cycled a maximum of 3,803 kms and Belinda Viegas Mueller also from Margao won the ‘yellow jersey’ in the women’s category by cycling 2,214 kms.
