It is indeed surprising that many MLAs are silent on the BJP Government’s plans to aggressively push through with the second airport at Mopa. What is more surprising is that people are not pressurising their MLAs on this issue. Many of these MLAs have forsaken their people and good of Goa for personal/ political gains, including for example the latest ministerial berths for 2 Salcette MLAs!
I think there are bigger powers at play here on huge profit sharing basis with corrupt Goan politicians. The latest example is Tiracol where practically the entire village has been sold off and is a clear example of a real estate scam. The Mopa airport will be have significant negative impact on the whole of Goa, should Goans allow this to happen!
