Educate women, urges Ponda MLA

PONDA: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik said the country has still not achieved hundred per cent literacy of women and that if the nation wants better future then women should be empowered with proper education.

“They should given proper training, incentives and remuneration for encouraging self employment,” said the Ponda MLA speaking on occasion of Azadika Amrut Mahostav special programme on women.

Ravi urged the government to not only provide education but also provide proper training for self employment of women so that they become self-reliant.

The programme was organised by the Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development (DTNBWE&D) affiliated to Ministry of Labour Empowerment Govt of India..

 having regional office at Ponda. Among those present were (DTNBWE&D) Director General Harsh Vaidya, Kisan Gadge, Regional Director Aruna Wagh and Prashant Edavi.
