Man-of-the-match Narayan Kambli and Robin D’Souza claimed three wickets each to give Sarvodaya Royal a convincing seven-wicket victory over Mechvac Fabricators in Goa Professional League T-20 at GCA ground, Alto-Porvorim on Tuesday.
Batting first Mechvac scored 72 all out in 17.5 overs. Kiran Powar was the only batsman to score the highest (27). Domnic Fernandes (11), Ganeshraj Narvekar and Shashank Rao (10) were the other scorers.
Aniket Dessai and Darshan Misal took one each for Sarvodaya.
In reply, Sarvodaya easy claimed the target in 15.3 overs, with 73 for 3. Hemant Shetgaonkar (26), Rajshekhar Harikant (21), Rohit Asnodkar (10) and Aniket Desai not out at 7 were the scorers. Domnic Fernandes, Shanshak Rao and Amit Yadav took one each for Mechvac.
In another match, Regan Pinto and Ryan D’Souza’s efforts went in vain as Goa Sports Academy went down fighting in a close encounter to Al Fatah Cricket Club with just 6 runs.
Al Fatah who batted first scored 160 for 9 in 20 overs. Saeed Shaikh (42), Saheel Dhuri (35), Rahul Keni (14), Gajanan Azgaonkar (13), Yogesh Chodankar (12) and Sachin Sardesai (11) were the top scorers. Sherman Vaz was at his best as he claimed 4 wickets, while Ryan D’Souza, Pratik Naik and Aditya Angle managed to take a wicket each.
In reply, GSA failed to reach the target scoring 154 for 7 in 20 overs, although Regan managed to score a half century with 66 not out and Ryan D’Souza 44. Captain Aditya Angle (15) and Sagun Kamat (12) were the other top scorers.
Saheel Dhuri who claimed 3 wickets for Al Fatah, initially crashed the opener Sagun Kamat and one down Tushar Narvekar. Srinivas Phadte (2), Yogesh Chodankar and Saeed Shaikh claimed one wicket each.
