CANACONA: A 14-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the rafter of the first floor of the boarding complex in which he was staying as a boarder in southern part of Canacona on Wednesday.
The incident took place between 2 pm and 2.15 pm after all the boarders staying in the residential complex had lunch.
Sources at Canacona Police Station said that preliminary investigation pointed out that the minor boy was in some sort of tension and didn’t speak with his friends the way he spoke normally on Wednesday morning.
Sources said that some students who had gone to the first floor which is being used to dry clothes saw the lifeless body of the minor boy hanging and then they alerted the boarding in-charge.
On being informed about the unfortunate incident, police arrived at the spot and retrieved the body which was later sent to Goa Medical College Hospital for preservation to perform autopsy.
Sources added that the victim was studying in standard VIII. Police said that they have not found a suicide note from the spot and they have registered a case of unnatural death.
