Market Relocation Meeting Postponed as Quorum Falls Short

A special meeting scheduled at 11 a.m. to discuss the proposed relocation of the market was postponed after the required quorum could not be achieved. Councillors reportedly waited for around 45 minutes, but the necessary number of members failed to arrive, forcing the meeting to be suspended and rescheduled for a later date.

Speaking after the postponement, Geetali expressed disappointment over the lack of attendance, saying such important meetings are not held regularly and deserve priority from all elected representatives. She stressed that public officials should make every effort to attend on time, while also urging the chairperson to ensure members are present before convening crucial discussions. According to her, repeated delays in meetings on key public issues only hinder decision-making and inconvenience everyone involved.
