Ban is the easiest solution with heavy fines. Hopefully it will reduce the menace of pollution of land and water to some extent. Plastic is all pervasive in daily life and the convenience makes its use comfortable.
I wonder where in the world plastic is totally banned. The segregation, disposal and recycle have been the way forward. The sea vomits tonnes of plastic waste dumped in the sea and ocean on the shores.
Measures must be taken to ban all goods wrapped and packed into single use plastics and all bottles too. The ban must apply to all single use packages. This is just a half hearted measure without alternatives. Ban is not the solution with heavy fines. It must apply at all India level.
