FATORDA: Raia FC and Salcete FC played out a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played, at Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda, on Sunday.
Both teams enjoying a great campaign in the U-14 League so far started the match on equal footings. After almost a barren half an hour,
Salcete FC finally broke the deadlock in the first half added time through Omkar Gaonkar.
But Raia FC were strong side and a fight was expected. After much probing they finally managed to draw level in the 47th minute through Deep Paswan, who yet again found the mark for his club and came with a vital goal to give his side important point.
In another match played at Cavelossim ground, Ave Maria Athletic and Welfare Club thrashed Young Strikers Benaulim 5-1.
Ave Maria began the onslaught in the fifth minute through Vishal Das and doubled the account in the 16th minute through Vijay S.
Up by two goals, there was no stopping as Ave Maria soon scored their third in the 22nd minute through Austin D’Silva. Enosh Goes managed to pull a goal back in the 26 minute for Young Strikers.
The winners led 3-1 at the break.
