Sattari RP approved; re-scrutiny unlikely

The Town and Country Planning Board on Friday approved the regional plan (surface utilisation plan) for Sattari taluka, even as Chief Minister Digambar Kamat didn’t show any inclination to send the plan back to the people as was demanded.
When asked by media persons whether the plans would be kept open for scrutiny of people again before being finally notified, Kamat replied he has gone as per law and just because people are demanding the plan cannot be kept for re-scrutiny. He sought to know under what provisions of law the people were making their demands.
Kamat claimed Sattari’s surface utilisation plan had stressed on maintaining the green cover in the area. “Soon a facilitation centre will be functional at the Maquinez Palace in Panjim where people with doubts over the plan can get the same clarified,” he stated.
Speaking on the micro-zones related to industries CM clarified that when his Government had gone ahead and scrapped SEZs why would I thrust upon the people these zones. These zones would facilitate small-time investors to have their own businesses.
He said the soon-to-be-approved plans were that of Ponda and Quepem. The same are taking a little long because many village plans have not been received.
