PANJIM: Former Union Minister Eduardo Faleiro on Friday said that Goans living in parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka interacted with the local youth at a recently held Youth Exchange Programme in a bid to get acquainted with their roots.
“Similarly, Goan youth would visit the neighbouring regions to get to know the people there. This programme, expected to be an annual feature, is intended for the young generation to promote understanding and goodwill between the states,” he said speaking at a press conference at Congress house on Friday.
Meanwhile, reacting to a media question on the Nigerian incident in the State, former union minister Eduardo Faleiro demanded that all the culprits involved in the alleged killing of Nigerian national Obado Uzoma Simeon be identified and arrested. Goa police have already arrested two suspects Surendra Pol alias Suren Paul and Praveen Mandrekar alias Paagal, for the offence while the remaining suspects including grandson of an ex-MGP MLA are still at large.
Faleiro suggested that Goa should not depend on tourism for revenue generation and instead look for alternatives.
