CANACONA: Loliem-Polem Panchayat lifted the 1st Canacona Premier League Cricket Trophy after defeating Village Panchayat Agonda by 14 runs in the finals at Maxem ground, here, Sunday.
Electing to bat first, Loliem-Polem team garnered 149 as the team was bundled out in 18.2 overs out of the allotted 20 overs. Santosh Satarkar (38) Durgesh Prabhugaonkar (24) and captain Sachin Naik (26) were the major contributors for Loliem-Polem team. Agonda team’s Sandesh Velip (3/26) and Ulhas Dessai (3/27) were the wreckers-in-chief.
In reply, batting through the entire 20 overs, Agonda could garner just 129 runs for the loss of seven wickets with the major contribution coming from Abhijit Patil 49 not out. Durgesh Prabhugaonkar was the most successful bowler for Loliem picking up three wickets, giving away 17 runs.
Loliem-Polem took home Rs 55,555 and a glittering trophy while Agonda had to be content with Rs 33,333 and a trophy.
