PANJIM: Though its inclination towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is common knowledge, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has kept its support to any political party for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections under wraps.
“We have not decided which party to support. We are of the view and have observed that whoever has played politics of religion has not benefitted anyone. Corruption, etc have risen in this country. Those who have spoken on Hindutva after coming to power are not doing anything,” HJS spokesperson Chetan Rajhans said on Thursday after the conclusion of their annual All India Hindu Convention.
Ahead of the polls, the HJS will prepare a charter of demands to place it before the parties, after which it will decide its future course of action including supporting of any party.
To a media question on the rise of workers of Popular Front of India in the State, the HJS stated that Goa Police should investigate this. “In Goa, PFI activity is increasing. Four years back, nobody knew what is on in December but one night, they just put up posters to declare this day as Black Day. From where has all this suddenly come up? Why is there no investigation?” questioned the member.
