Vinay’s major source of inspiration is his father and he learnt a lot from his parents. He believes the longer he lives, the more he realises the importance of attitude on life. Attitude to him is more important than facts. “It is more than the past, education, money, circumstances, failures, success, what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company or a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our attitude,” said Vinay Bhasin.
During his spare time and since he likes to stay fit, he works out 4-5 days a week. He loves catching up with friends over dinner or chilled out evenings.
“I have enjoyed watching Elementary, Limitless, Dexter, Hannibal and 24 on AXN channel. Besides that I watch movies on HBO and Movies Now and news on Times Now or anything that catches my attention while flipping channels. I like to holiday 3-4 times a year ie, once every 3-4 months. Ideally two holidays are within India and two out of India in the year totaling up to 30 days in a year. Unfortunately Goa is no longer a holiday destination for me, for obvious reasons” added Mr Bhasin.
He shared an anaecdote and narrated that the day he started work in his family business after his graduation, he went to the office thinking that he would get my own AC office and would learn about the business seated in the bosses’ chair. That was day one. On day two his father called him to his cabin and said that he was to start apprenticeship at one of their sites which was one and half hours journey by bus and local train, one way and he was to be there for one year.
“The supervisor on site was given instructions to fire me if need be, so that I could learn everything. So for a year, I trudged up and down daily with my lunch box in hand and sweated in the sun and got drenched in the rain. I hated it then but now I realise the strong base that my father built for me because I learnt everything from measuring trucks of mud to building a compound wall, to casting footings and foundations and slabs, to finishing etc. It was an invaluable and lasting experience but I realised that only later in life,” added Vinay Bhasin.
Vinay started his journey in Goa in 2006 and now Goa has become an important part of his life and wishes to give back as much as he has gained from this place which he calls ‘beautiful piece of paradise’.
This can be seen throughout our developments which have been inspired by the rich Goan- Portuguese heritage. Finally, Goa is where he wants to retire.
“God and life have both been very kind to me and brought me to the comfortable position I now am in life where I don’t lack anything. My goal is now to give back to society as much as I can while keeping in focus my objective to work at my pace but still grow at a reasonable pace. Goa has the perfect mix of hospitality, work culture and susegad attitude to allow me to do that,” added Vinay Bhasin.
