First cruise ships of the season arrive at Mormugao Port

VASCO: The first cruise ships of the season arrived at the Mormugao port on Saturday.

The first cruise vessel “Vasco da Gama” brought in 590 passengers and 416 crew members. The vessel arrived from Portugal via Mumbai and will sail to Cochin Port later in the day. The second domestic cruise liner “Empress” carrying 1,300 passengers also arrived at the Mormugao Port on Saturday.

Expressing their optimism the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) officials informed that as many as 44 international and domestic cruises were lined up for the currenttourism season. The cruise tourism will give a boost to the local tourism and hospitality industry, they said.
