MAYEM: Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant recently inaugurated the drinking water scheme for Khazan Pale.
Dr Sawant inaugurated the scheme in the presence of Pale-Cotombi Sarpanch Shamba Gauns, Pale ZP member Laxmikant P Parab, Pale-Cotombi Panch Mohan Valvaikar, Mineral Foundation of Goa Chief Executive Officer Swaminathan Sridhar, JE PWD-Bicholim Mayekar and beneficiaries. The Mineral Foundation of Goa and VMS constructed the drinking water scheme for Khazan Pale.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sawant said the project will be useful for the local people.
Meanwhile, Second Innings, a center for senior citizens, recently organised Kavi Sammellan to mark the birthday of its member and literalist Chandrakant Gawas.
On the occasion, poets including Dr Guruprasad Kapadi, M K Patil, Prakash Shirodkar and Chandrakant Gawas presented different poems.
One of the poems presented by Patil was based on the recent rape incident at New Delhi. The speakers in their speech condemned the incident.
