MARGAO: After the end of the 60-day period on February 5, the SGPDA appointed a 3-member subcommittee to scrutinise and inspect the suggestions and objections for the draft Outline Development Plan of Margao and Ponda.
The SGPDA also approved the detailed plan for the construction of the new wholesale fish market. They also approved the transfer of old SGPDA storage house for Export Inspection Agency for sub office of Goa to set up the state-of-the-art testing cum EIA office. The Chairperson Renuka D’Silva stated that the physical possession would be handed over to them.
The proposal for restoring the tinto heritage market at old market, Margao has also been approved after the architect made a presentation before the authority.
The Chairperson stated that the authority has spoken to all the vendors including the matka gaddas and surrounding bakeries and the church. She said that the process was in consultation with all the stakeholders and the renovation will be done in phases.
The Usgao SGPDA market was in a dilapidated condition. The Authority decided to give it to GSIDC for construction of a new market. The construction will be done phase wise to rehabilitate the existing vendors.
The Member Secretary informed that the authority has received around 400 objections for the draft ODPs. With regards to the recent fire at the biogas site in the SGPDA property, the chairperson stated that they would be strict to prevent people from dumping thermocol crates at the site.
