Meets to streamline mid-day meal scheme

PANJIM: The government in a bid to streamline mid-day meal scheme, the govt will hold taluka-wise meetings of parents along with the heads of the educational institutions starting 17th October.

PANJIM: The government in a bid to streamline mid-day meal scheme, the govt will hold taluka-wise meetings of parents along with the heads of the educational institutions starting 17th October. 
The taluka-wise meetings of heads of the educational institutions along with two parent representatives and the official of the Directorate of Education will be on till 31st October across 11 talukas of the state. 
The Education department meetings will begin with talukas from North Goa and will invite suggestions from parents on the mid-day meal. The first meeting will be held in Sattari taluka at Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya in Valpoi.
The Education Department is working together with the Goa Education Development Corporation to put the mid-day meal scheme in place. 
The directorate expects the parents to monitor the mid-day meals along with the officers of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration to be appointed in all the talukas. Presently the schools and the self-help groups have been divided on basis of panchayats and municipal areas to make it easier for the parents to monitor the meals.
