Loyola clash with Rosary

Loyola High School, Margao will clash with Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda in the finals of Salcete Taluka Under-14 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament at Government ground, Manora, Raia on Monday.
In the first semi-final, Loyola blanked Manovikas English Medium School, Margao 2-0. Loyola were leading 1-0 at the breather.
Loyola’s forward, Sneeden Madeira, son of former India midfielder Savio Madeira showed his class and repeatedly troubled the rival defence with snap shots.
Loyola broke the deadlock midway in the first half as a flag kick taken by Sneeden Madeira was brilliantly headed by Rossly Da Costa.
Loyola continued in the same vein after the break and Sneeden unleashed a left footer which pierced into the net giving no chance to the rival goalkeeper.
In the other semi-final, Rosary beat Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Verna 5-3 via the tie-breaker. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of normal period.
Fr Agnel went into the lead in the first half through Aniket Khandolkar. Jesmon Soares struck the late equaliser.
In the tie-breaker, Sher Dami, Liston Fernandes, Clive Miranda and Saheed Afridi were on target for the winners while Hemant Halgikar and Allison Rebello scored for Fr Agnel.
