PANJIM: The objection to the setting up of Playboy Club in Goa is getting stronger with All India Mahila Congress Committee (AIMCC) contending it will kill Goa’s golden goose ~ tourism.

All India Mahila Congress Committee President Anita Verma, who was on a two-day visit to Goa, told a press conference Wednesday that the proposed Playboy Club in Candolim will not be a success.

“Tourists come to Goa for its natural beauty. They want peace, they want to be away from daily life and be with nature. I don’t think more tourists will come for Playboy…that thing will be dead,” All India Mahila Congress Committee president  said, while replying to a media question.

Not to sound imposing her views on the State, in the same breath, the Congress leader said that the committee would leave the decision on the Playboy Club to the locals — whether or not to accept such a brand in the State.

“This is a decision which the public of Goa should take. You have to keep your characteristics and your culture,” the AIMCC president  said.
