MARGAO: The police on late Tuesday evening detained a resident of Moti Dongor Sheikh Jalil under the National Security Act.
Margao Sub-Divisional Police Officer, DySP Mohan Naik confirmed late Tuesday night that Jalil has been detained under the NSA. Jalil, who was absconding for quite some time, following which the district Magistrate had approached the local court to issue proclamation declaring him as a proclaimed offender, was brought to the district police headquarters late this evening.
DySP Naik said Jalil would be produced before the district magistrate, who had issued the order for his detention under the NSA, before he is lodged at the central jail at Aguada.
Jalil is the second person from Margao who has been detained under the NSA after the Parrikar government invoked the National Security Act last year.
