PANJIM: Savio and Patrick emerged champions at the 3rd Invitation Badminton tournament organized by Creative Peoples Club Santa Cruz, recently.
In the first semi-final, the undefeated pair from Verem got the better of favourites Nilesh & Pralhad in straight sets 15/12 & 15/14.
In the second semi-final, Atish & Uday from Chorao, had to sweat it out against Sanjib & Siraj from Sanquelim 15/13, 14/15 & 15/10.
Earlier, the public got to watch an exhibition match between top notch State players which was won by Freedy & Sunny Sawant who defeated Sohan & Floyd Araujo 15/13 & 15/13.
The final was a cracker of a match with balance swinging on both sides, but eventually the experienced pair of Patrick & Savio emerged winners of the high voltage drama 15/11 & 15/12.
