MARGAO: In an interesting development, a total of 10 bidders have submitted their bids for the SGPDA wholesale market Sopo (collection of occupation fees) tender.
After the scrutiny of the tender, it will be placed before the SGPDA meeting on November 12 for a final decision on the tender.
Cutbona boat owners, who had been eyeing the tender since Day one, expressed confidence of bagging the tender since the other bidders did not come anywhere close to the top bidders.
Cutbona Boat Owners Union President Seby Cardozo hoped that the PDA would follow process in both letter and spirit.
When contacted, SGPDA Member Secretary Vinod Kumar said that a total of 10 bidders had participated in the tender for the wholesale fish market upkeep and maintenance. “The tender was opened today and our staff will scrutinise the bids received from the parties. After the short listing process is complete, the eligible bids will be placed before the meeting of the PDA scheduled on November 12. The Authority will take a final call on the tender”, he added.
Boat owners under the banner of Cutbona Boat Owners Association have made a determined bid to bag the SGPDA wholesale fish market sopo tender, promising to bring about a turn around in the market condition.
The tender has kicked up a row after the PDA put a condition that only contractors with three years experience are eligible to participate in the bid, with the boat owners suspecting that the experience clause was deliberately inserted to keep them away.
