MAPUSA: 19-year-old Chetan Parab from Ozari, Pernem died in a road accident at Dhargal on Saturday. The fatal mishap took place at Dadachiwadi Nagzar on Saturday at around 5.15 pm when the driver of a Eicher truck bearing registration No MH 43 BU 0697 drove in rash and negligent manner and banged against a scooter bearing registration No GA-11-F-8433.
The scooter was completely damaged while the rider died on the spot of head injuries.

After the incident, the driver of Eicher truck fled from the spot without administering medical aid to the victim. Pernem police conducted the panchanama and identified the driver of the truck as one as Shivendra Kumar Yadav (25) native of Madhya Pradesh, presently residing at Nagzar and later placed him under arrest.
