OLD GOA: Stating that she neither voted in favour nor against the no-confidence motion against the sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of Sao Mathias Panchayat, Panch Greta Vaz said she had remained neutral by abstaining from voting.
Reacting to a report that said that she had voted against the motion, Vaz further stated that the information given was false and misleading. “I chose not to vote out of my own choice,” she added.
It may be recalled that Herald had stated that the no-confidence motion against the sarpanch and deputy sarpanch was passed by 4-3 votes, when in fact it was passed by 4-2 votes, with Greta Vaz abstaining from the election.
Vaz, however, refused to outline the reasons for her decision to abstain even when she formed part of the ruling group.
