MGP leader threatens agitation over truck parking at Kerya

PONDA: MGP leader Ketan Bhatikar on Thursday warned of staging an agitation at Kerya with the locals, if the traffic department does not stop the trucks from parking on both sides of the four-lane NH at Curti-Kerya by July 3.
Addressing the media, he said the truckers have no space allocated for parking, hence, they park on the roadside putting the safety of locals at risk.
“We have met Traffic Officials earlier but the truck parking issue is not solved yet,” said Bhatikar.
Panch member Bhika Kerkar also said that “this is a long-pending issue and several memorandums have been sent to the traffic police but the parking continues.”
“MGP have set up a disaster management team which would help locals in distress during monsoons, especially in house and tree collapse, with the co-operation of the fire personnel,” said Bhatikar.
