PANJIM: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will address the State and the BJP Goa workers on June 20 through a virtual rally.

Party president Sadanand Shet Tanavade, at a press conference in the party office on Wednesday, said that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the rally will be virtual but that the party expects more than one lakh BJP workers to attend the rally online.
“Our social media team will ensure the virtual rally reaches to every person. We are also trying to broadcast the rally through YouTube, Facebook and live on some channels. We are also preparing a stage at our party’s district office in Mapusa wherein Union minister Shripad Naik, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Deputy CMs Manohar Ajgaonkar and Chandrakant Kavlekar, and MPs from Goa will be attending the virtual rally,” he said, while explaining how the office is spacious enough to ensure social distancing.
This will be the first virtual rally to be addressed by any BJP leader in the State. Tanavade said that online meetings were held across the State to inform workers about this virtual rally, which would be broadcasted on various social media platforms. He added that Gadkari will address workers on various achievements of Modi 2.0 government that would also include solving of issues, which were hanging fire for last 75 years. Issues like Citizenship Amendment Act, abolition of Triple Talaq, resolution of Ram Mandir issue and decisions on Kashmir are major highlights of the government,” he said.
In the meeting held with the BJP workers earlier on Wednesday, the party also paid their tributes to Indian soldiers who were martyred in a violent face-off with China on Tuesday.
