The Assolna-Cavelossim bridge looks very beautiful with its surroundings and the River Sal view has been attracting the youth and people crossing the bridge. It has been noticed that many people are parking their vehicles in the middle of the bridge on both the sides and blocking the traffic putting other’s lives at risk.
It is becoming unsafe as a large number of people gather on the bridge to take selfies, view pictures, for fishing, young couples stand for their romantic movement and few also stop for alcohol and smoking.
There are so many beautiful places in our Goa; why not go there and enjoy your time? I have seen many youth ride their bikes in a group to show off or maybe make an impression with the opposite sex.
Do the youth think Goans see these bikes for the first time? It is really dangerous when these youth and their group stand close to the railings of the bridge. This action may cause a tragedy since parking close to the railings one can accidentally fall in the river.
Police are doing their duty by clearing the vehicles and warning them but soon as the police jeep goes by the scene remains the same as before. This bridge is built for the vehicles to pass and not for the view. The panchayat office, MLA along with Police department, traffic cell should put the sign boards of No Parking or stopping the vehicles on the bridge. Police should immediately fine the person blocking the traffic by parking their vehicles on the middle of the bridge.
This is a serious issue and have to be solved as soon as possible by keeping the police man on duty on this bridge. Please protect and give safety for the innocent people crossing the bridge. Remember that safety always comes first.
