Court rejects accused plea in Russian rape case

MARGAO, MARCH 20 The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao on Saturday rejected the application filed by Russian woman rape accused John Fernandes seeking extract of police diary concerning the case.

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao on Saturday rejected the application filed by Russian woman rape accused John Fernandes seeking extract of police diary concerning the case.
The Court has granted the application moved by the Crime Branch to attach a document pertaining to the affidavit filed by the Russian victim’s friend to the chargesheet filed against the accused.
In the order, the JMFC has also rejected the application filed by John to expunge the judicial pronouncements of the Supreme Court and High Court attached to the chargesheet by the Crime branch.
Meanwhile, the JMFC will decide the question of committing the Russian woman rape case to the Sessions court on Monday.
