SANGUEM: Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) owned public garden will be refurbished to its past beauty of being the rose garden with the assistance of former SMC chairperson late Minguelinho D’Costa’s family.
SMC Chairperson Romualdo Fernandes taking the initiative to refurbish the garden got a resolution passed in the Council to invite support in reviving the garden. Escolastica D’Costa, wife of the former chairperson approached the SMC and assured to provide the required number of rose plants for the garden.
Speaking on the occasion, Fernandes thanked the family members of late Minguelinho D’costa for providing the rose plants for the garden.
He appealed the municipal gardeners to take extreme care of the rose plants and to keep the municipal garden clean, green and ever blooming.
It is pertinent to note, that the rose garden at the Sanguem Municipal Garden was an idea of late Minguelinho D’costa and the rose garden bloomed to its fullest during the tenure of D’costa as chairperson but subsequently withered due to lack of care.
