MAPUSA/RAIA: Calangute Association registered a well deserved 2-0 win over Maina SC in the 8th Goa Football Association-Vedanta Women’s League match played at Poriat ground, Calangute, on Tuesday.
Both the goals were scored in the second session of play by Sharon Fernandes and Valania Fernandes. Livval Sporting Association trounced Patrong SC 11-0 at Tilak Maidan, Vasco.
Karren Estrocio (6), Jessel Mascarenhas (2), Prissy Pereira (2) and Aniela Baretto scored for Livval Sporting Association.
Sporting Association were leading 7-0 at the half time. Patrong SC, a bunch of talented and budding players put up a spirited fight till the end of 90 minutes. Elvy, Sanjana and Goalkeeper Anjali played a stellar role for Patrong SC.
Karen Estrocio won the player-of-the-match award which was presented by Goa Football Association, Executive Committee Member, Royla Fernandes.
