10 years later, water tank opposite Anjuna PS not yet inaugurated

25 Nerul residents join AAP

PANJIM: Having not received water for some time, the residents of Vagator and Chapora led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday inspected the water tank opposite Anjuna Police Station and were shocked after learning that the same has not yet been inaugurated.

The site inspection revealed that the tank though built nearly a decade ago has been neglected as the pipes have developed cracks and holes and at places they are eroded. Even the room next to the tank is in a terrible condition.

AAP’s Siolim co-ordinator Pujan Malvankar alleged that the tank was not built for the benefit of the locals but, only for politicians to receive their commission.

“If the tank was constructed for the benefit of the people, this would not have been the state today,” he said.

The locals accompanying Malvankar demanded that tank be repaired and inaugurated immediately and sought action against the person, who received the commission.   Umesh Kolwalkar, Mansi Naik, Balakrishna Malvankar, Pramod and Fadte were present for the site inspection.

Meanwhile, continuing with its Veez Andolan, the Aam Aadmi Party held a meeting near the market at Nerul where 25 people joined the party saying they were impressed with the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi and wanted it to be replicated in Goa. Close to 120 people attended the meeting.
