CANACONA: An accident on NH66 bypass at Poinguinim blocked traffic for an hour on Sunday.
According to sources, a bus hit an oncoming truck on the driver side. Another truck tailgating the bus banged the bus from behind. No injuries were reported but the mishap left the NH66 road partially blocked for at least an hour.
As all the three vehicles occupied the entire road width of the all important NH66 road, the traffic remained still on either side till the authorities diverted light and medium vehicles through the internal village roads of Chiplem and Sadolxem, sources said.
After conducting accident scene panchanama, the truck which was behind the bus was removed to the side and the movement of traffic was partially restored, sources said.
Police sources informed that the entire road was later cleared for traffic after both, the truck and the bus were removed by a crane which was requisitioned from Margao.
