PANJIM: In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, the State government on Monday suspended marking of biometric attendance for all its employees till January 31.
However, all the employees are required to mark their attendance in attendance registers to be maintained manually, so also use of face card reader attendance system will continue, as per an order issued by the General Administration (GA) Department. In a series of instructions issued for strict compliance, the government has exempted persons with disabilities and pregnant women employees from attending office, allowing work from home.
“Those officers or staffs are not attending office and working from home shall be available on telephone and other electronic means of communication at all times. They should attend office, if called for and if any exigency of work demands,” stated the order issued by GA Under Secretary Shripad Arlekar.
