The plan will be prepared as per guidelines laid down by the
Central Zoo Authority (CZA) of the Union Ministry for Environment and Forests.

“We have decided to redraft the master plan for Bondla Zoo,”
sources said without disclosing the reason for redrafting the plan. The plan
will be sent to the CZA for approval.

The Forest Department had undertaken facelift of the zoo,
which is in existence since 1969, according to the master plan drawn in 2008.
The proposal and plan was approved by CZA and the State government.
