Will you supply Bisleri or wine? Narvekar to Alemao

Aggrieved over the erratic water supply on the Porvorim Plateau, Aldona MLA Dayanand Narvekar has questioned PWD Minister Churchill Alemao whether he would provide Bisleri or wine to the people in the area in place of water.
In a letter to Alemao, Narvekar highlighted the water woes of the people of Porvorim and conveyed to him that during the time of Diwali, people had to go to the homes of their relatives to have bath.
He pointed out that the problem now existing for more than a year had been created by innumerable buildings that have come up in the area.
“In spite of my repeated requests number of new buildings are coming up in Porvorim under the cover of some old ODP and at least two to three are moving in daily throwing water supply into disarray,” he wrote.
Narvekar reminded Alemao that he had decided along with him sometime back not to release water for commercial and residential complexes except single dwelling units till the water supply improved.
The MLA said he was extremely disappointed with the PWD Department for engaging police force while laying a new pipeline from Porvorim water tank to Sapna Habitat consisting of 400 flats. Using the khaki force is the most dictatorial thing to do by a democratic government, he added.
In another letter to the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Narvekar said looking at the ire of the people due to poor water supply he may not be able to visit some of the places.
He mentioned that the CM along with other ministers attended several meetings regarding the problem and several decisions were taken but unfortunately all have remained on paper.
“On the contrary the Government has issued a statement that there will be no water supply for Bardez and Bicholim for two days. I am told that a big plateau like Porvorim will get water from six tankers,” he mentioned.
He wrote further, “I had mentioned to the Government two years back to set up a water treatment plant at Guirim-Mapusa and also a parallel raw water line of Tillari water from Guirim to Porvorim so that the same was used for gardening purpose.”
Narvekar mentioned that he had made a charge that the Government was working more for the people of the South and his charge had been proved right with the erratic water supply in Porvorim.
