Goa began their campaign in Junior National Girls football Championship on a resounding note hammering Himachal Pradesh 24-0 at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh on Thursday. Goa led 12-0 at the break.
Goa opened their account in the 3rd minute through Cassandra Fernandes and thereafter there was no looking back as the Goan girls found the net very often surpassing their opponents with ease.
Angel Braganza stole the show for Goa scoring eight goals while Michel Castanha (3), Cassandra Fernandes (2), Nagima Shaikh (2), Stessi Cardoza (2), Ayesha Alvares (2), Malvita Mascarenhas, Ageema Rodrigues, Mayola Fernandes, Hazel Dias and Valerie Carvalho were the other scorers.
In the other matches, Sikkim beat Kerala 5-0, TN beat MP 2-1, Haryana beat Gujarat 29-0, Bihar beat Chandigarh 5-0 and Jharkhand drew with Pondicherry 1-1.
