Leader of Opposition and former CM Digamber Kamat, reacting to the demise said, “Deeply shocked to hear about passing away of my friend and former INC Goa MLA Jitendra Deshprabhu. He was studious legislator and an excellent orator. My condolences are with his family. May his soul rest in peace! He was a staunch congressman and he has his family have immensely contributed for the congress party. His passing away is a great loss to the Congress Party. His sudden demise as come as a shock to everyone. Goa will miss a firebrand studious leader.”

Ayush Minister and North Goa MP Shripad Naik, said,” My deepest condolences on the sad demise of senior INC Goa leader and former MLA Jitendra Deshprabhu. May God give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss. My prayers are with the bereaved family.
“I am shocked to inform about demise of Deshprabhu. He was a tall Congress leader and his sudden death has shocked the party,” said Congress Goa President Girish Chodankar.
Former Speaker and ex-MLA from Pernem, Rajendra Arlekar termed the development as ‘very said and added that Goa will miss him and that he was always a fighter.
Similar tributes poured in for the former MLA from all quarters of society and across social media. Ponda MLA and former CM Ravi Naik also expressed his grief over the death of Deshprabhu. He said,” Goa is going to miss one strong leader and orator. He gave a voice to all those Goans who were affected by various issues,” added Naik.
BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said he was ‘extremely saddened by the passing of former MLA Jitendra Deshprabhuji’. “An outstanding leader, appreciated across parties. Sincere condolences to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of grief. Om Shanti!” he added.
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said, “ My deepest condolences to passing away of former Congress MLA Jitendra Deshprabhu. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti!
NRI Commissioner, Narendra Sawaikar said,” Saddened to hear about untimely demise of Shri #JitendraDeshprabhu. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May the Almighty give the family members the strength to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.
Shiv Sena leader Jitesh Kamat also posted on Twitter, “Goa has lost one of the excellent orators and versatile personality, Ex MLA of Pernem Constituency Jeetendra Deshprabhu @deshprab. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family.”
