The Mapusa Comunidade demolished four illegal houses constructed on the Comunidade land at Cunchelim on Friday. The Comunidade informed that action against the illegal houses was initiated three months ago, by demolishing houses. The people living there were informed to construct the houses by obtaining proper permissions.
However, the Comunidade alleges that the houses were reconstructed without proper permission. The house owners stated that they had been living in the area for nearly 30 years without any issues and this matter is sub judice and in the court as per the notice by the Mapusa Municipality.
