MARGAO: Parish Youth, Nuvem continued to show their domination as they decimated Sporting Club of Davorlim by an unassailable margin of 4-1 in the second semi final of the South Goa McDowell’s No. 1 Yaari Premier Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Cuncolim Union at government school playground, Cuncolim on Friday.
The semi-final started on a high note as PY Nuvem took the control from the first minute itself and they took only 19 minutes to net the first goal against the SC Davorlim. Striker Gammy Costa collected the ball from Inacio Colaco and the former slotted it home to earn lead for PY Nuvem.
SC Davorlim didn’t hit the panic button and tried to give back to the PY Nuvem team but striker Venson Figureido outran the rival defender and unleashed a snap shot which sailed over the cross bar.
At the other end, PY Nuvem striker Gammy Costa doubled the lead when he unleashed a volley crashed into the net off well measured cross from Stanley D’Mello .
Post resumption, Gammy Costa registered his hat trick in the 41st minute .
Later, Venson Figureido scored the consolation goal in the 53rd minute through pass from Clifton Rebello SC Davorlim should have gained the remote of the match by then.
With four minutes remaining, Joe Colaco stunned the SC Davorlim goalkeeper and etched his name in the scorer list.
Gammy Costa of PY Nuvem who dazzled the crowds with his artistic display was adjudged man-of- the-match.
