PONDA: A prominent higher secondary school in Ponda approached the Ponda police on last Saturday with a complaint that some unknown student allegedly put up two obscene photographs during her online classes through Google web meeting.
It is learnt that the lady teacher was taking online classes for the XII commerce class wherein 47 students were attending the class through Google meet. While her class was progressing suddenly the obscene nude photos popped up and the students were confused.
Following this incident the teacher rushed to the Principle office and informed the incident after which they filed police complaint against unknown person. The incident took place on September 19 at around 10 pm.
Ponda P I Harish Marcaikar registered an offence under section 66 of IT Act for transmitting sexual content. The complaint will be handed over to the cyber crime cell. The police are further conducting investigation into the matter.
In May, teachers in Goa were given tutorials on using online portals to reach students in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Directorate of Education had organised a three-day workshop to train them on various platforms, including Google Meets and Zoom.
