MARGAO: In a bid to streamline and simplify procedure of direct cash transfer scheme in respect of LGP cylinders, the district authorities on Monday tied up with the Lead Bank Manager, South, to ensure that LPG consumers get themselves registered with the dealers and bankers without any hardships.
The LPG dealers have been told to arrange drop boxes at their offices to facilitate customers to drop their documents for the subsidy scheme.
“The dealers in turn will forward the forms to the lead bank, which in turn will dispatch the documents to the respective banks,” District Collector N D Agrawal told the media on Monday. He pointed out that based on the documents received from customers the dealer will do the seeding of the Aadhar number with the LPG customer number.
Agrawal said that though Aadhar card coverage in South Goa is around 99 per cent, there are many who are yet to receive their cards till date.
“For the benefit of these customers, we will generate e-Aadhar numbers to facilitate them to obtain the registration,” he added.
Replying to a question, Agrawal attributed the huge queue of customers at the offices of dealers to the transfer of the customer numbers since many of the holders are out of station and working abroad.
Lead Bank Manager M B Sawant said the lead bank will take the responsibility of dispatching the forms to the various banks received from the dealers. “Customers need not panic,” he added.
