Missing trawler owner’s body found at Baina

VASCO: The body of the trawler owner, who went missing after his trawler capsized off the Vasco coast on Friday, was recovered from the Baina beach on Saturday.

VASCO: The body of the trawler owner, who went missing after his trawler capsized off the Vasco coast on Friday, was recovered from the Baina beach on Saturday.
According to reports, Vasco police was alerted that a body had been washed ashore at Baina beach near Desterro.
A Vasco police team rushed to the site and recovered the body, which was later identified as that of Francis (Laltan) D’Souza, the trawler owner.
Following an autopsy, the body of the trawler owner was later handed over to family members for final rites.
It may be recalled that on Friday morning, the trawler ‘Maria Rosa’ had gone out at sea on the first day of the fishing season, when the vessel capsized off the Vasco coast.
While four crew members were rescued by the Coast Guard, D’Souza and another crew member went missing. The body of the missing crew member is yet to be located.
