Da Cruz, Mala-Panjim outclassed Odxel SportsClub, Taleigao 25-18, 24-26, 25-18 in the finals of Loutulim volleyball tournament organised by ex-volleyball players of Loutulim.
Earlier, Da Cruz beat Goa Police 2-0 sets and Odxel defeated Haushi Yuwak, Santa cruz also 2-0 sets.
Yeshwant, Raymond, Simon, Milind, libero Dilip Rodrigues shone for Da Cruz. Anil, Paulo, Vinod played well for Odxel.
Da Cruz bagged Rs 6000 and the trophy while Odxel got Rs 4000 and the trophy. The losing semi-finalists were given Rs 2000 each.
Tourism Minister, Micky Pacheco was the chief guest. GTDC Vice-chairman Lyndon Monteiro was the guest of honour. Fr George Fernandes presided. Francis Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, Menin Da Cruz, patron of Da Cruz team presented a bonus of Rs 3000 to the players. A special prize of Rs 500 was awarded to Yeshwant Khandeparkar.
