Da Cruz, Mala clinched their 12th title defeating Odxel Sports Club of Taleigao 3-0 sets in the finals of all-Goa volleyball tournament organised by Sao Pedro Sports Club of Arambol (Harmal). The scores were 25-14, 25-15, 25-20.
It was a one-sided affair in the finals as Da Cruz outplayed their rivals.
Yeshwant, Sanjay, Simon, Milind, Sandesh, captainVivek Khandolkar shone for Mala. Ravi, Anil played well for Odxel.
Da Cruz won Rs 8000 and the trophy. Odxel had to be content with Rs 6000 and the trophy.
Haushi Yuvak and St Thomas, losing semi-finalists, received Rs 2000 each.
Earlier, Da Cruz beat Kulmaya Bicholim 2-0 and Haushi 3-1. Odxel beat Goa Police 3-0 and St Thomas St Cruz 3-0.
Following prizes were awarded: Best smasher Sanjay Mangueshkar. Best lifter Milind Bodke. Best defender Dheeraj.
Fr Andrew Pereira was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
