It is observed that at some places along the Varunapuri-Sada highway, loose rocks are seen on the hillock on one side. There is every possibility of the rocks sliding down onto the road below due to heavy rains.
Several vehicles pass along the route and citizens engage in their morning/evening walk here. It is pertinent to note that at some places signboards depicting falling rocks have been put up by the roadside.

At a particular spot, a crash barrier has also been put up to guard against falling rocks. But in case of a landslide, this could be of little help. The stability of the hillock needs to be tested by the authorities concerned and necessary steps taken in order to prevent any eventuality.
